Introduction

Centuries ago in a universe away from ours, a planet rotated around a white sun.  Its surface lifeless, the world showed no signs of producing life of any kind.  Then as time moved on, an intelligent, magical race of creatures, called Akons, landed on the planet in an attempt to explore and colonize it.  At the time there were seven and they brought with them magic and technology.

Though just seven, they were very strong beings and with their power they caused the latent lakes on the planet to spring forth and shifted the rotation of the world so the dull white sun would provide warmth.  They also changed the atmosphere of the planet, making it breathable.  In reaction, plant life began to thrive.  Stalks of gray bamboo, lichen, moss and trees with dark leaves sprung to life.  Their colors dull, for the life giving sun could only give so much light.

Yet the Akons were still pleased even though the main source of water was brown and most of the rivers still ran beneath the surface of the world.  This was still a great accomplishment and as they began to see the planet’s potential, they constructed a fortress and began to make plans on what to do.

After using their technology, the Akons began to wonder how to use their magic.  Though they planned on ruling the planet equally, they decided to create sentient life to see how that would change the world.  With an almost unanimous vote, the lifeforms created were humanoid, fair skinned and born with compassionate and innocent hearts.  The Akons sat back and marveled at their creation, all except one.

The seventh Akon desired to use their magic to create stronger, more menacing creatures instead of the innocent ones.  Yet the others knew that rage and anger were powerful forces that no one should tamper with.  However the seventh one soon found himself enticed by these emotions and with his desire to rule over his companions, began to walk down a darker path than the others.

It was the dream of the other six to rule a planet with life in harmony; it was the dream of the seventh to rule over everything with absolute power.  Secretly he developed his own magic and with it, created horrific creatures and unleashed them on Akerion’s surface.

The monsters were all different species, yet all the same in that they possessed supernatural strength and agility.  They could also sense danger and sense innocence.  Once freed, they repopulated the planet unleashing an evil even the Akons couldn’t control.  Fearing his own creations, the evil Akon hid himself in the northern area of the planet and the other six, after using all of their technology to create Akerion, used what was left of their magic to hide away in a cave so remote that no one would be able to find it, least they traverse treacherous paths and survive other protective forces that kept them safe from anyone who dared to seek the creators of the world.

The evil ones continued to wreck havoc on the planet and seeking out the innocent ones, made every attempt to destroy them.  The new humanoids on Akerion found their weak hearts giving way to an incredible talent for survival.  Though they were not nearly as physically strong, their danger sense became stronger than the creatures and some of the innocent ones grouped themselves in villages based on survival skills.  Still others remained alone in the gray bamboo forests and tried to make it on their own.  Some succeeded, most did not.

Of those that did succeed were eight Akerians who banded together in an attempt to resist the creatures.  They marked a new point in history of the planet called the Wave of Resistance, and each one had special abilities few on the planet ever possessed.

There was Tirloka, a powerful warrior adept at using a sword and with his fast dexterity, he could easily outrun any creature.  His mate Kirah, was a beautiful archer who moved almost as quickly, and never missed an aim.  Alena was her best friend, an angelic creature who landed upon Akerion by mistake.  Her ability to fly made her a valuable asset to the team.  Then there was Zirlot, a man who had the ability to change into one of Akerion’s most feared monsters, and then back to his humanoid form.  His mate Lekanar had the ability to camoflague herself and hold her breath for long periods of time.  Her ability to fake death was her most powerful attribute.  Weko was the one who possessed great intelligence of the group and his cousin Julon was almost as powerful as Tirloka.  Finally there was Sterah a sorceress who was the only one blessed by the Akons and the only one also blessed with longevity.

Though the Akons remained hidden in fear of the evil that plagued their world, the eight Akerians caught their attention.  After their demise, they figured it was time to intervene.  Using their magic, they sent out a summons to find someone willing to aid in the creation of a new warrior.  The warrior born would never experience childhood, but magically be transported to the world where she would assume her duties.  Her name, Kirakah.  Her purpose, to protect the innocent life on the planet.
