The Birth of Jade
Euphoria looked upon the mortal and answered,
"So you ask if my looms weave only life? Well glamour is unpredictable and
often acts on its own accord. True I am creation but at the same time I
do not wish to control everything in my realm. Confused are you? Perhaps
you should read a story of mine about men and what their greed brings. For
you do not realize most things in your world are seen through selfish eyes,
which can make life quite ugly."
The Fae Gatekeeper of Dreams moved her hands along the threads of a large
loom. Before the mortal's eyes the strings shimmered and began to twist
with a variety of colors. In moments it revealed a scene before his eyes.
This is what he saw.
A storm is beginning with a few flashes of light. Strong forces stir
and it's very easy to sense. From the dark clouds a face rises. Its features
stern, it holds no place for innocence. Then a sinister smile forms upon
its red lips. They slowly part and smoke flows from a dark mouth.
The smoke covers the area and after a few moments slowly begins to dissipate.
The new scene reveals a small, flowing waterfall. At the bottom is a
large pond surrounded by crystal. Life is abundant here as seen by the fish
jumping through the waves of water. Tranquility is also evident as harsh
words and sighs of despair are not heard by any ear.
Then water drops spill out from where the waterfall meets the pond. As
they fall the droplets bounce upon gray rocks that surround the water's edge.
Upon contact they are turned into crystal. The crystal chimes.
It continues to chime until the sound converges into the air. Upon the
union water drops are formed again. They come together and begin to form
a new pond above ground. Blue and shimmering from the light above, it is
a marvelous sight as it remains free of gravity. Amazed by this site I
hardly notice barren soil beneath my feet. Finally the force pushes down
upon it and the pond falls somewhere new but close by me. The dirt and water
merge and as the dust is quenched the area around it turns green.
There is now a pond where dust once stood. It shines and holds a deep blue
hue. The area around the pond also changes. Like the crystal that gave
birth to the water before, the same crystal forms on the edge but shimmers
with the color of life. Jade is born.
The pond still shines but men quickly come and take the jade away. They
are tall men and shrouded by their selfishness. I do not wish to see them
for this reason. As this is done the face smiles realizing men think only
for themselves and material gain. The face gave birth to jade but the face
was an image of greed, anxious to see it taken away.
